Fall Activities to do Without Stress

Updated: Nov 23, 2019

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of going out in public because I tend to get uncomfortable in social situations, it can be hard to achieve an aesthetically pleasing autumn lifestyle.

But have no fear, I have learned how to do things without having too much to stress out about. Here are some things that can be done without too much stress.

Go Outside for a Walk

While the great outdoors can seem intimidating and too filled with bugs, the great thing about hiking in the fall is that most bugs have disappeared for the winter already, so lathering yourself in bug spray wouldn't be a necessity. The fresh air will feel great and most trails and parks aren't packed with people. Even if it is fairly busy, the hikers are more focused on what they're doing rather than your actions.

Get Warm Drinks With Friends

You don't have to brave the world of coffee addicts alone! Take a friend or group of friends with you to get a nice warm drink to warm up. If you're like me and have time to kill between classes (I get at least an hour, but I have two hours to kill on Fridays) or a lengthy lunch break, then going to a local coffee shop is a great way to get away from school. For me personally, I love getting hot chocolate at Goat Coffee Co. in Toronto because it's so close to my school and I spent hours there last year with my friends while we worked on projects.

Now, not every person like hot drinks in the fall or even the winter which is completely fine. Whenever I go to Tim Horton's or Starbucks, I typically get a cold drink. In the end, it's who you're spending time with and not what you're drinking.

Also, having people you are close to will reduce the stress and even gives you the chance to open up about things you might be struggling with.

Just remember to take some picture to capture the time you're spending with those who matter in life.

Carve Some Pumpkins

While this activity can pretty much only be done in October, it's a way to decorate for the spooky season while letting your creative juices flow. After you're done your work, you can also roast the pumpkin seeds for a tasty autumn snack.

The best part? You only need to leave the house to buy the pumpkin.

Go to an Apple Orchard

While not every one is closely located by an apple farm, picking apples not only supplies you with fresh apples, but it the perfect opportunity to snap some pictures for social media. After all, if it's not on Snapchat or Instagram, it didn't happen.

This is a great activity to do with family, friends and possibly even a significant other. Especially if you want some pictures taken of you picking the best apple from a tree. While gathering your food, there may be chances to grab an apple-based snack or even some hot apple cider to sip at the end of your excursion.

Have A Movie Marathon

Again, during the month of October, it is the perfect time to binge your favourite spooky movies as Halloween approaches. However, as the weather turns colder, it becomes more and more appropriate to bust out your favourite winter holiday movies to watch while sipping on hot chocolate, being curled up in comfy clothes and being buried under a giant pile of blankets.

Whether you're taking a walk by yourself or out to coffee with your friends or colleges, the autumn season can be captured and remembered with minimal stress with these fun activities.
